This happened a while ago....like August 26....My dad's birthday but I just got the pictures put on my computer and I am at work....so I will blog now. My dad loves hiking Timp and as far as I'm concerned I love it too. I did it when I was fourteen and remembered it being pretty easy and fun. I must have a bad memory because that thing was not as easy as I thought it was. Most of the Rasmussen side of my family went. We had to beg a few of them......But it was so fun. The people in this photo are: Braiden, Kylee, Dylan, Laura, Jodie, Maddy, Me, Danielle, Rick, Cindy, and Jake. my Dad is taking the photo. So we woke up at five in the morning and drove up to the mountain and walked like what seemed for hours because we parked so far away. So I guess that was our warm up. Finally we all got together and stretched and laughed...a lot. And we were off. This is a picture probably not even a mile from the beginning. I think that Uncle Rick just wanted a reason to stop..... The mountain was steep and I had to stop lots. I loved it though. I think the problem was that I was carrying two SLR cameras in my backpack. Why did I do that? I dont know. My Digital one ran out of batteries so it was just extra weight and my other had expensive film in it and i didn't want to waste it on bad lighting. So I definately got my work out. We of course could not go somewhere without some sort of issue. My Rasmussen family is really good at finding trouble. So Braiden decided to get some sort of rash on and in his eye. Yea it's good looking. There were loads of people and some were even coming down when we were coming up. That would mean that they would have to have started long before we did. Some people started at one ish. Another person ran the whole thing in 10 minutes. Who does that ? crazy people that is. Here we are at the saddle. We were exhausted and ready to sleep. But there is the best part coming which is the last part that is steep and scary and weavy. So we went on and Maddy the little trooper clung to the side of the walls and moved very slow. It was fun and I would do it again. Even though it was brutal. My family is soooo much fun, I laughed the whole time while Rick would chat it up with anyone near him. My Aunt Cindy was a trooper too and was always smiling even though she did not like this. And my dad of course loved it even though I am sure he was near to ripping his knee out. It was sooo much fun. I recommend it to anyone and everyone!!
